Lord Swaminarayan’s garland sends man into trance

Once Shreeji Maharaj was going to Gujarat from Kathiawad. At that time Maharaj
threw His garland in the lake. Later someone saw the garland and took it out of
the lake and wore it round his neck. He was instanly sent into a trance (samadhi
– whereby one’s soul lives the body)!! But the people of the village who
found him thought that this person was going to die, but didn’t know that this
was Lord Swaminarayan’s doing. So they thought that since Maharaj was around
in the village they should take him to Maharaj to ‘cure’ this man.
They brought the unconscious person to Maharaj
and asked Maharaj as to what they should do about the person since he was dying.
Maharaj of course knowing that the person was in a trance and not dying, said to
the people, that if they take off the garland from his neck then he will
survive. Surely enough when they took off the garland the person woke up!
This divine leela shows us how anything that
comes into contact with God becomes divine! It could be the flowers we get from
the temple or the 'prasadi' we get from the temple, anything that Maharaj has
accepted becomes divine and we should respect it accordingly with love
