Shreeji Maharaj was eating 'rotlo' and 'vaithak (aubergine) nu shaak' in Gadhada,
when a devotee by the name of Bahechar Chavde asked for 'prasadi' (part of the
food offered to Maharaj). Maharaj warned him that the food will not remain in
his hands. Bahechar said "Who's going to take it off me?" , to which
Maharaj said that it will definitely not stay with you. Saying that, Maharaj
gave him 'prasadi' of 'rotlo' and the 'shaak' and Bahechar left for his home. On
the way home, a bird suddenly came and grabbed the food that was with Bahechar!
So Bahechar went back to Maharaj and told Him
that a bird had taken his prasadi. Bahechar asked Maharaj who the bird was,
since Maharaj had warned him about his prasadi being taken away. Maharaj said
that it was 'Surya dev' (Sun God) who had taken the form of a bird to get His
(Lord Swaminarayan’s) divine prasadi!
